David Ufheil, CPA, has joined the EPIEN Medical team as its Chief Financial Officer.  He has over 30 years of experience in accounting and financial leadership roles, including serving as auditor or advisor for companies ranging from venture-backed start-ups to large, multi-national public companies across a variety of industries including life sciences, automotive, manufacturing, consumer products, transportation and technology.  David began his career in the audit practice of KPMG, which included working in Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis and on secondment in Frankfurt and Stuttgart, Germany for 6.5 years.  He also spent 5 years in the accounting advisory practice of Ernst & Young and 1.5 years leading the accounting advisory practice of Riveron in Minneapolis.  Most recently, David was a contracted advisor to several private companies as they worked towards their initial public offerings.

Over his career, David has assisted numerous companies on accounting change and transaction-related accounting issues, including revenue recognition, leases, public equity and debt offerings, private-equity transactions, purchase price allocations, carve-out financial statements and GAAP conversions.

David graduated with distinction from Indiana University-Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  He is a licensed CPA in the state of Minnesota and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
