Dr. Paul Glat is a Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon currently practicing in Philadelphia metropolitan area.  Dr. Glat was born and raised just outside of  New York city.  He was the valedictorian of his high school class before entering Princeton University.  Dr. Glat graduated Cum laude from Princeton with a major in molecular biology, the first class to offer this degree at Princeton University.

Dr. Glat then moved to New York City where he attended medical school at New York University (NYU). He continued his residency training at NYU in General and Plastic Surgery.  After completing his residency, Dr. Glat completed a fellowship in Craniofacial surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Once Dr. Glat completed his training, he joined the faculty at Drexel University College of Medicine where he is a Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics.  He is also the Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Christopher’s Hospital where he is the Director of the Burn Unit.  Through his work at Drexel and St. Christopher’s, Dr. Glat has extensive clinical research experience.  He has been the principal investigator in numerous clinical trials. He has published extensively on these topics and written several chapters on Wound healing.  He is sought after as a speaker both nationally and internationally. He has been honored to sit on many advisory boards and panels that impact healthcare.

Dr. Glat is the chairman of the John A Boswick Burn and Wound Symposium held annually in Maui, Hawaii.  This meeting has become one of the premier burn and wound meetings internationally under Dr. Glat’s leadership, with attendance of surgeons, nurses and other specialist from over 20 countries.  At the Boswick meeting, leaders of all specialties present their scientific work over 5 days.  Collaboration and networking between industry and medical leaders is one of the hallmarks of this meeting.

Dr. Glat also has a successful private practice in the Philadelphia area where he has become one of the premier hair restoration surgeons in the region. Additionally, he specializes in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. His experience running this type of practice and small business has served him well as a consultant to industry as well as a teacher of students, residents and fellows.
